Most people which include the citizens and bus owners prefer this method as it makes parking easier to allocate and hence very convenient. The congestion parking is one of the best innovations to be introduced in San Francisco. Death and decay often convey corruption within a story. The use of this particular imagery allows one to make a connection between the natural world and the nature of people. Throughout Hamlet, a play, set in Denmark, which was written in the early seventeenth century by William Shakespeare, there are several instances where one sees decay depicting corruption. Though this play is filled with massive images of decaying nature, it is also filled with images of nature in its beautiful state. Because Hamlet portrays decaying and developing nature, it shows one that it is possible to maintain a sense of self in a world that strives on corruption. The first image of decay used in Hamlet was during Act 1, Scene 2. Hamlet states, â€Å"tis an†¦show more content†¦Though Claudius was the most corrupted character throughout the play, the most important corrupted character was Hamlet. Hamlet allowed for the overgrown garden of weeds to capture his mind and essentially drive him crazy . It Is everyones goal to support her, to keep her safe, to help her move woman and it is the main goal for everyone to help her get there. At this point it is also imperative that I attempt to gain Cassandra trust. I need to reassure her that I truly do care about her, I want to be there for her, and I want to help her get better. With Cassandra being institutionalized it can be devastating to her and may cause her to shut down and withdraw.If she shuts down or withdraws, it becomes possible that she may not work with me, so I need to be prominent in visiting her and each time assuring that I do care about her. While continuing to provide support to Cassandra, the fourth step of the model can be done. Cassandra needs help finding her supports and any alternatives that she may have access to; many times the client does not realize Just how much is out there for them so it is our Jobs as crisis workers to help the client find these things.Many times this step and the remaining two steps of the model are done with the client participating, however, if Cassandra is unable to work collaboratively with me, it may come down to me being more directive than assisting. There are 3 things to look at when searching for Cassandra alternatives; situation support, coping exchanges, and positive thinking patterns. For Cassan dra, situational supports could be her mother or any other family member, even friends; as long as it is someone who truly cares about Cassandra safety and wellbeing. Coping mechanisms can be an array of different things that would help Cassandra deal with any type of crisis situation in the future. These can be a number of different behaviors, actions, or resources. Some examples of coping mechanisms are: breathing techniques, Journaling, talking with someone, meditation, crafts, exercising, or playing with either kids or pets. Whatever the choice may be, it needs to be a healthy mechanism, unhealthy choices would be hitting something, or substance abuse. When a person has positive thinking abilities it is not meaning that they have a good work ethic or that they are persistent.A person has positive thinking skills when their thoughts revolve around feelings like contentment, love, or Joy. When someone has these types of feelings primarily, they see many more life goals and possibilities. Cassandra needs to be able to find these feelings and let these feelings become more persistent than any type of negative thought. Step five in the model is to make a plan and this step flows right alongside step four. This part of the crisis workers contribution to the client would be to pinpoint other people, groups, and resources that can be available to her at any time.For Cassandra these things could be friends or family that she may have thought about, a church group, a domestic violence support groups, walk in mental health clinics, therapists, or hotness. Though this step should ideally be done cooperatively with Cassandra, there is always a possibility that I may need to be more directive than supportive. This is the stage where Cassandra needs to be reminded that my main goal is to help her find the steps to gain the skills to find success. The final step in the Six Step Model is to obtain commitment. If all the other preceding steps have been done successfully, then this final step should be easy. In most cases obtaining commitment is as brief and simple as Cassandra telling me about her plan of action in her recovery process. This commitment should be done in a voluntary state and only when both Cassandra and I feel that her goals are and revised, if needed, until any hesitation has dissipated. Looking back at the initial situation, it was mentioned that there is substance abuse problems within Cassandra family. It was reported that Cassandra father abused alcohol and her brother abused heroin.One concern that arises is whether or not Cassandra is abusing any type of drug or alcohol. Some studies say that chemical dependency runs in families, while others are not compelled to agree with that theory. While I personally do not believe that addictions are necessarily genetic, there is always another theory or scientific discovery. The first thing to do is to discover if Cassandra has any chemical addictions is to ask her. Asking several different questions and listening for inconsistencies is one way to Judge if she is being honest.If she isnt giving consistent answers to not abusing any substance, blood testing is always an option. If it is found that she is chemically dependent, she should be entered into either in-patient or out-patient treatment. Getting Cassandra into treatment if it is needed is in her best interest. Again looking back at the original encounter and the information gained in the initial intake stage, it is possible that Cassandra is suffering from a potential psychological disorder. Given some of the things that she talked about it may be possible that she is suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PETS).She saw the sexual and physical abuse of her mother, it is questionable whether or not she was abused by her father or grandfather, she was in an obviously violent relationship, she has attempted suicide three times in the past, and she reported frequent nightmares revolving her father. Another thought is that she is suffering from some sort of moderate to severe depression. This is possible from all the symptoms previously mentioned plus the homicidal ideation, verbally abusive awards law enforcement, concerning mental state, and potential murder of her boyfriend.Cassandra mental state is of great concern and needs to be addressed. She has a lot of extreme trauma in her past and current life that need addressing. The best way to help her given all the facts and aspects of everything explained by her and law enforcement, it is in Cassandra best interest to be temporarily sent to an in-patient mental health facility for a more in-depth evaluation, a chemical dependency evaluation, potential medication mandate, and long term therapy. Looking into the ethical considerations involving this particular case, there one thing that strongly needs to be looked at.During the first encounter with Cassandra, law enforcement officers were standing over her refusing to leave even during a confidential interview. Since Cassandra was in handcuffs and leg shackles there was no possibility of her running to escape or the potential of her becoming violent. With the restraints in place, law enforcement officers should have left the room during the interview; they could have stood Just outside the door in order to maintain Cassandra right to confidentiality.Although doctor patient confidentiality prevents me from disclosing that Cassandra does have homicidal thoughts, I can stress my concerns for her safety and the safety of others to press that I feel she needs in- patient mental health facility care. Mackey is aware that corporate policies are not clearly communicated and represented at the Division.The publicity that would result from legal action against the unethical practices within AD would surely impact Sellers as a whole, with consequential impacts reaching well beyond Just the small group at the Division. Leaders at Sellers could turn out to be allies for Mackey in addressing this challenge as they are invested in what is best for the entire company, not Just ‘AD. Another challenge contributing to the problem is the ambiguity surrounding Phil Devotes motivations, intentions, and awareness of the situation. To this point Mackey's decisions and actions have been merely to avoid engaging in behaviors she deemed too unethical rather than to address the behaviors encouraged and practiced within the ‘AD.This has forced her into a corner here she has few options to address the issue without compromising the success of a major project and Jeopardizing her career. Furthermore, her decision to enter into discussions with Devon under the false pretenses she created constrains her to maintaining the lie or risk d amaging relations with Devon by revealing her true identity and motivations. The result of the relationship with Devon has many potential consequences which are unpredictable given how little is known about Devotes interests.Action Plan The objective of the approach to addressing the problem at hand is to prevent rather encroachment beyond Mackey's ethical comfort level while doing as little damage as possible to her career prospects. Mackey first needs to confront Malone and Richardson with her concerns regarding the ethical nature and legal ramifications of paying Devon for potentially proprietary information. In all likelihood Malone and Richardson will dismiss her concerns because it is simply business as usual for the ‘AD.At that point simply handing the project off to Kaufmann would not address the ethical dilemma; it would merely be a means of problem avoidance for Mackey, which is all she has done to this point. Her next step would be to contact the top leadership at S ellers to confirm corporate policies regarding the procurement of proprietary information. Mackey will likely find that company policy prohibits payoffs to obtain proprietary information belonging to other companies in order to protect the greater interests of Sellers.Assuming that this is the case, to protect her integrity, and that of Sellers, Mackey will have to disclose the truth about her identity and motivations to Devon. Subsequently, Mackey will be able to find out whether the information Devon has is proprietary, assuming Devon is still willing to operate. Her actions from that point should be guided by Sellers company policy; the information she obtains should be strictly non-proprietary. Regardless of long term she will still need to address the unethical behaviors that pervade the ‘AD.Her choice then becomes to alert leadership at Sellers of the unethical behaviors of Richardson, Malone, Kaufmann, and others throughout ‘AD, or leave Sellers. Either course ris ks the career Mackey has created for herself; however, it is necessary if Mackey hopes to maintain her integrity. Likely her best option is to notify Sclerosis dervish team of the conditions at ‘AD. In doing so Mackey will help protect Sellers and all employees working in the other branches of the company. It also may reveal other opportunities for Mackey in Sellers and the ‘AD.Failure of this approach would simply leave her where she would have otherwise been, with her integrity intact looking for a new Job as a consultant with ‘AD on her resume. Overall Learning From this case I learned that not all decisions are as simple as right versus wrong, some of the most difficult decisions will be between right and right. It is also often hose right versus right decisions that force us to reflect on our own values and what is most important to ourselves. Right versus right decisions create opportunities for explicitly defining our values.In Mackey's case it would have be en better for her to address the ethical dilemmas she encountered earlier in her career so that she would have been able to operate without a major deadline looming and pressure from the client and her managers. Furthermore, Mackey experienced discomfort while facing her right versus right decision which called into question her deeply ingrained values. This is directly in line with Abductor's theory surrounding defining moments for individuals. It is these feelings and intuitions which translate core values in a time of conflict.The prevailing values, according to Obduracy, will be those that are the most deeply rooted in one's life. Obduracy reasons that, â€Å"a combination of expediency and shrewdness, coupled with imagination and boldness, will help [one] implement [his] personal understanding of what is right. † I would argue that his is not only true, but that, â€Å"a combination of expediency and shrewdness, coupled with imagination and boldness, ill help,† pr eserve the most of one's values when confronted by such a situation.I feel that, in a right versus right defining moment, it is not necessary to abandon one set of values in favor of another assuming an adroit approach is taken to address the situation. Creativity will allow someone to get the most out of a situation. After analyzing this case and the associated material I mostly feel compelled to be more conscious of right versus right cases that may be developing. I also feel that when faced with these types of decisions I will need to be more aware of the message my actions send to those around me.
